Trader Joe’s
A good, neutral taste and it froths well. While not particularly important, it also surprisingly contains literally no additives.
ALDI
Decent tasting and froths well.
Silk
Tastes good. It used to froth well, but at some point in 2025 they changed their recipe and it no longer froths at all. It’s disappointing that this is the biggest soy milk brand in the US.
Costco
Doesn’t froth well, and tastes pretty bad. It’s very disappointing that this is the best Costco can do considering their reputation.
Bettergoods
Tastes terrible but froths well.
There’s an idea idea that soy milk has to contain added emulsifiers such as guar or locust bean gum in order to froth well, but soy already contains natural emulsifiers. In reality, unless the maker is adding things especially for frothability, concentration is what matters most.
